How we build it right

The process behind concrete steps & stairs built to last

Credibility comes from how it's built, not from promises. Here's the order of operations on every concrete steps & stairs job.

01

Footing into ground we re-compact

Steps start on a footing set into soil we've compacted, since fresh subdivision fill near a foundation keeps settling and can walk loose steps away from the house over the first few seasons.

02

Even risers, held to code

We keep riser heights consistent and within local code so every step lands the same and climbs safely.

03

Reinforce the corners

Steel through the pour keeps edges and corners intact as the fill and clay around the entry settle and shift.

04

Finish for a wet entry

A broom or textured surface gives grip when a storm leaves the entry slick, and we add grit anywhere it earns its place.

05

Tie it in clean

We blend the new steps into the existing porch, slab, or walkway so it reads as one piece of the house.

Why Lucky's

The one you don't have to worry about

01

We answer, and we come back

Most contractors vanish after the deposit. We pick up the phone, show up when we say, and stand behind the work after the truck leaves. The follow-through is the difference.

02

Managed crews, our name on it

A foreman we know runs your job and a vetted crew does the work, managed by Lucky's, one company accountable from the first call to the final walkthrough.

03

Fully insured, paperwork-ready

COI and lien waivers on file before we break ground. The documentation that lets commercial clients pay and gives homeowners peace of mind.

04

Built right, not cheap

Prepped subgrade, reinforced and mixed to spec for the job, and proper curing. We build credibility through the process, not promises. On concrete steps & stairs, that starts with footing into ground we re-compact.

FAQ

Round Rock concrete steps & stairs, answered

How much do concrete steps cost in Round Rock?

Steps are usually priced per set rather than per square foot, based on the riser count, the footing and compaction the lot's fill calls for, and how they meet the house. As a starting range, figure roughly $300 to $500 per step. We lock in a firm number after we've looked over the entry.

Why do my steps pull away from my newer house?

On a graded lot it's usually the fill near the foundation still settling. Imported fill placed during construction keeps consolidating, so steps set on a shallow, loose base ride that drop and drift loose from the house. We footing them into re-compacted ground so they stay where they belong.

What riser height do you build to?

Risers stay consistent and within local code so every step reads the same as you climb. Risers that vary are awkward and a trip hazard, and more so once a storm leaves the entry slick.

Can my steps be repaired, or do they need replacing?

That hinges on the damage. Light surface chips and minor spalling can sometimes be patched, but steps that have sunk on settling fill or have cracked risers usually mean a rebuild on a real footing. We'll be straight with you about which one it is.

Can you add railings to concrete steps?

We pour the steps, finish them, and set the anchor points for a railing, then line up the railing install so the stairs suit your access and safety needs.

How long before I can use new steps?

Foot traffic generally holds off a few days while the concrete gains strength, and a summer pour has to cure instead of baking dry. We lay out the timeline for your pour before any work begins.
